Klong Toey Slums

Yesterday was a very different day from the rest so far. It started of really nicely watching the kids in kindergarten class. Truly amazing how much they are reading and writing, we watched one class as they practiced some english, words like cat, dog, egg...They are all very curious with us and the camera so it is hard to get footage without them smiling right at us and making faces, although that is fine at times, but other times it is harder to tell a story.
The second half of our day was in the Slums, we went to see a fire devastation from a month ago. It takes the government that long to come up with new plans to rebuild and bring in the crews so many families just do it themselves, they dig in trenches of some of the most discusting sludge only to pull out a bottle cap or a screw. We are gathering some amazing footage and the story is coming together really nicely.
